Categories : - Published : 10/08/2021 Pink October: a month of national mobilization The « Pink October » campaign started on the 1st october for the 28th consecutive year. The aim is to sensibilize of breast cancer screening, to collect funds and support research. This year, the campaign is titled « Breasts Walk » and has a new slogan « Make an appointment with your breasts ! Every year, go to a doctor ». The videoclip of the campaign is here © Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign for 2021 October Rose Pink october : origins of mobilization The association « Breast Cancer, let’s talk about it » is founded in 1994, when Estée Lauder France and the Marie-Claire magazine chose to work together in the fight against breast cancer. Since last year, the name has changed to « Pink Ribbon ». The « Pink October » month was born thanks to this association. Although in the beggining, talking about breast cancer was a taboo subject, it’s no longer true today. We can talk about a national mobilization. How support the campaign ? To support research, you can make a donation of a predefined amount or of your choice, on the official donation site of the Pink Ribbon association. There are also others possibilities to support Pink Ribbon. For example, you can participate at the solidarity and participatory project « realize a pink ribbon, symbol of fight against breast cancer ». All the creations will be offered to patients during october. You found more informations here. Sportingly speaking, you can alone or accompanied, as an individual or professional, participate in a « virtual race » on October 30 and 31. You can register for this event by choosing the type of race you wish to do (2 km, 6 km, 12 km, half-marathon or marathon). You can race from home, in your garden, in the forest, wherever you want ! A contribution of 5.99€ is requested during registration (5€ for registration + 0.99€ management fees) and you can also make a donation ! Finally, some major brands/companies have chosen to become partners of the association by offering products from which all or part of the profits will be donated to the association. This is the case for Kusmi Tea for example which has developed a special tea in collaboration with the emblematic French figure of luxury lingerie Chantal Thomass. All benefits will be donated to Pink Ribbon. And at Dendro, what did we choose ? Here we have chosen the virtual race :) we registered to the 6km race and make a donation ! It’s our way to support all the person which fight everyday against cancer and to support the research.
